Remedy

The makeup I show you today goes in pink and grey tones. It’s not a combination I make that often but it’s a nice variant to use once in a while. Pink and grey can really look great together.
Sometimes people ask me how to combine different types of colors. It doesn’t have just a simple answer. But one thing that I’m certain about and that I believe is the most important when trying new color combinations is how you decide to apply them and the intensity you give to each shade. If you apply them in the ”right” way you can mix what colors you want, even colors you never would think look good together. It’s all about the application from my point of view. And it’s here where the practise comes in. The beautiful thing about makeup is that there’s no rules, just some guidlines, but you decide, the result can become horrible as wonderful, but the more you practice the more secure you get. It works as with everything else. One should never give up trying beacuse everytime you try you automatically become a bit better than last time.

In Florence today it’s really beautiful and sunny. I’m having a bit of a cold these days but now I really start looking forward to springtime. I’m still in a period where I don’t have much time to do new makeup looks but I’ve got a few ideas for upcoming looks, just need the time to realize them.

I hope you’re having a fantastic week!! Until next time, take care!! Xoxo

Pink and Gold Christmas

Today’s look goes in pink, purple and gold shades. These colors make me feel happy and I think it can be a fun alternative look for Christmas, or for one of all the upcoming Christmas parties. These are great shades to make green and brown eyes pop even more.
The AMC eyeliner gel 74 from Inglot that I’ve used for this look is one of the best gel eyeliners I’ve ever tried. I love the purple shade but even better is that this eyeliner really last the whole day without smudging nor ending up in the crease. As I wrote in an earlier post, it’s so hard to find reliable waterproof gel eyeliners, so I’m really glad I took the chance to try it. I’m also trying out their black one now, nr 77, and I’m in love with that one too.

Yesterday I worked, (I did the makeup on 13 people!), and my last working day before the Christmas holidays will be this Friday.
We’re leaving on Saturday morning for the north of Italy and after that we’re going up to Sweden. Tonight and tomorrow I’ve to do all the packing.

Have a great Wednesday!!!

Kiss My Eyes

Me and my family just came back from a week in Stockholm. It’s been really nice and Stockholm is as always such a beautiful city with so many things to do. We’ve really been enjoying this week together. We didn’t do much shopping but one day we visitied The Mall of Scandinavia and there I bought myself two gorgeous gel eyeliners from Inglot. I’ve been wanting to try them out for over a year now and finally I got two of them. I will make a post about them further on.

The look I show you today is purple with blendings in orange and yellow. I love this combination of colors. To it I matched with a pink lipstick. I think it’s a fun look you can use for a special occasion or a party.

Keep Dancing

I’ve always liked the combination of purple and orange shades in eye makeups. I’ve probably used it in many times but I never get tired of it. For me this is a great summer makeup that can be used both day and nighttime.
In this makeup I mixed both shimmery and matte eyeshadows.

Last week I finally ordered a new makeup palette that I can’t wait to get home and play with. Some of you may already have it, or for sure you’ve seen it in many makeup tutorials lately. I won’t tell you which one it is but as soon as I’ll have it I’ll post it here on the blog with swatches and information.

Summerish

Even though it’s been rainy and kind of cold for a couple of days here in Florence you can feel that the summer is very close. Finally the days are longer again and that gives you definately much more energy. This makeup represents in colors the summer feelings I start to feel inside.

The best way to create a soft smokey makeup (in any color) is to have patience while blending the colors together and of course the use of good professional makeup brushes. My absolute favorite brushes come from Sigma and Bdellium Tools. The best about them is of course that they do an amazing job while applying products and blending colors but also that after you’ve cleaned and dried them they remain the same wash after wash. I’ve been using these brushes for over two years now and love them. If you want any suggestions or have any questions about makeup brushes feel free to ask me.

I finally created a public Facebook page dedicated only for makeup. If you want and are interested to follow me there you can go and like Maria Bergmark Makeup. I would really appreciate it! It’s also a great way for me to stay in contact with all of you who loves makeup as much as me.

Wish a wonderful start of this new week!

Love for Eyeshadows

Since I love the eyeshadows from Makeup Geek I ordered other ten of them. This time a bit more colorful. The pigmentation is fantastic and to do makeup with these is heaven for me. If you didn’t know it from before I’m crazy for eyeshadows!

And all of my Makeup Geek eyeshadows together.

Tutti i miei ombretti di Makeup Geek insieme.

After more or less an hour I also managed to organize, not all, but almost all of my single eyeshadows in my three Z-palettes. To wake up now in the morning and have everything a bit more orderly makes me feel more creative.

NEW IN FROM URBAN DECAY

Gwen Stefani Lippencil WONDERLAND

As you can see you can get two completely different results with this lippencil. If you just apply it without using anything else you can get a really intense red color, but if you use it more gently over a lipbalm you get a more pink red color, that obviously also feels more pleasant on the lips. To only use a lippencil normally is too dry and is not a nice feeling on the lips. All lippencils are of course different and there are always exceptions. I like this lippencil but I think I had too high expectations about it and it’s unfortunately not as good as I thought it would have been. It’s a bit too soft and it’s actually hard to apply the color evenly on the mouth which is really disturding. But the color lasts for a really long time which is a good plus. The way I like to use it is, or over a lipstick to make the color last even longer or as I did on the picture above over a lipbalm.

This eyepencil is specially made for using in the waterline. The color Rail is a really nice darkbrown color. I’ve used the UD 24/7 glide-on eyepencils for a really long time and now when they have come out with a serie specially made for the waterline I just had to try it out. I really hoped that these ones would totally revolutionize this type of eyepencil, and even though it glides on smoothly and the color is great and intense the result isn’t exactly what I had hoped for. Obviously I had hoped that it would have last much longer than what it does before you need to apply it one more time. If I apply it around 7 in the morning much of the color has faded away around 8:30. If I then apply it once more the color will remain on better afterwards. Maybe that’s how you should do to make this eyepencil last its best? The waterline is always a critical point and is constantly in contact with eye liquid and movement so that definitely affects the lasting quality of the color.
