Pink Spring

Here in Florence it’s been a few days with incredibly warm weather for the season. I think we had 24 degrees yesterday and close to that also today. It’s really wonderful and all the trees and flowers are starting to bloom out really fast now. The sunsets at night are spectacular and I get so inspired by all these wonderful colors.
My makeup inspiration of today’s look come from what nature offers right now, beautiful spring colors. Then Easter is coming up soon and I love to be colorful at this time of the year.

I hope you’ve had a great week and will have a nice weekend! We’re going quickly up to Sweden but will be back already on Tuesday. I’m really looking forward to come home even if it’s just for a short visit. ❤

Wow the weeks are going fast now! I ended last week with some work which always is really nice.
At the same time we had a long weekend since the school decided to do a strike on Friday. That’s Italy… Noone understands why, noone tells you and nothing ever changes…hahaha… Luckily I wasn’t working Friday so I could stay with my children.

So today’s look feels a bit more ”springy”. Light green shades mixed with earthy tones is always a happy mix. I added pink lips to this look to make it even brighter.

Have a wonderful happy week!!! ❤

True Love Asks for Nothing

For Valentine’s Day this year I suggest a shimmery halo makeup. Choose the color combination you like most and your eyes will look gorgeous. I tried this combination in brown and turquoise shades which isn’t that classic but the effect you get is amazing.

I want to wish you a fantastic Valentine’s Day with much love. Myself will work the whole day and spread love with my makeup brushes 😉 . I usually never celebrate Valentine’s Day since it’s too commercial for my taste. I like to be nice and show love everyday and not closing it in one day. But the meaning of Valentine’s Day is beautiful so enjoy it as much as you can!

Too Funky

The weather here in Florence been so grey and rainy lately that I felt that I needed to cheer up a bit with a fun colorful halo makeup look. I mainly used colors in purple, pink and gold. This could be an idea for Valentines Day or for a fun night out. In this look I also tried the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit, shade Amber Gold, which is a lovely golden highlighter that reflects a bit of pink. I really love this Glow Kit, I’ve been using it frequently.

Remedy

The makeup I show you today goes in pink and grey tones. It’s not a combination I make that often but it’s a nice variant to use once in a while. Pink and grey can really look great together.
Sometimes people ask me how to combine different types of colors. It doesn’t have just a simple answer. But one thing that I’m certain about and that I believe is the most important when trying new color combinations is how you decide to apply them and the intensity you give to each shade. If you apply them in the ”right” way you can mix what colors you want, even colors you never would think look good together. It’s all about the application from my point of view. And it’s here where the practise comes in. The beautiful thing about makeup is that there’s no rules, just some guidlines, but you decide, the result can become horrible as wonderful, but the more you practice the more secure you get. It works as with everything else. One should never give up trying beacuse everytime you try you automatically become a bit better than last time.

In Florence today it’s really beautiful and sunny. I’m having a bit of a cold these days but now I really start looking forward to springtime. I’m still in a period where I don’t have much time to do new makeup looks but I’ve got a few ideas for upcoming looks, just need the time to realize them.

I hope you’re having a fantastic week!! Until next time, take care!! Xoxo

Good Times

This week has been much more positive than the last one. Feels good to mentally feel better again. What really helps me to cheer up is listening to music, it works a bit like therapy for me. And I love going back a bit in time finding old songs I listened to years ago, and with that I get so many happy memories and positive energy which gets me back on the right track again.
(Then tomorrow we’ll change the wind shield on the car and with that one problem less. 🙂 )
On Saturday my daughter is turing 9, so she’ll have a few friends over for the day. I’ll make lunch for them and afterwards we’ll have the cake. In the afternoon I’ll bring them to do some kind of activity together, maybe ice skating. She’s really looking forward to her birthday which makes me very happy! 9 years already…

Today’s makeup is a kind of makeup I’ve done million of times. A neutral look with a pop of color along the lower lashline. It’s a look that in its simplicaty puts me in a good mood. It’s also super easy to make and you decide the intensity of the colors. I made mine really soft and blended. Then adding a pair of false eyelashes can never be wrong, as long as you use a pair that are super light and doesn’t disturb you during the day. Some lashes can make the eye feel heavy or sometimes the inner part can feel like a spine, if that happens try to find a pair that are lightweighted with an invisible band. I’m a big fan of Ardell’s eyelashes. Also Eylure has some good ones.

With that I want to wish you a great weekend!!!

Smooth

I hope you’re having a nice relaxing Sunday. This week I’ve tried to organize as much as possible before Christmas to be able to take it easy the upcoming two weeks. We’re leaving for Sweden soon and I would like to have as much as possible ready during next week. In the meantime I’m also trying my best to create some new makeup looks for the blog.

The look I show you today is super easy to create with a smudged out eyeliner. Here I’m using the waterproof eyepencils from Euphidra, website here, which is an Italian cosmetic line that I collaborate with right now. What I do is that I work for their brand in different pharmacies where I offer a makeup session for their clients and consultency for their products. I love it and the brand is amazing, from the facial creams and face cleaning products to the makeup line.

Have a really nice evening now and I’ll be back soon again with a new look!

Illamasqua, YSL, Stila & False Eyelashes

ILLAMASQUA
Lip Colouring Pencil Media, Lipstick Corrupt & Vanitas Matte Lipstick Wanton

I’ve been wanting to try Illamasqua’s lip products for such a long time so when Beautybay offered a good discount a couple of weeks ago I ordered them. I went for three different matte pink shades. I’m really satisfied with my choise even though the swatches I watched before doing the order didn’t corrispond excatly how I imagined them to be.

The lip colouring pencil Media is amazing. It transfers the color onto the lips really easy and you can use this one as it is by itself without adding any lipstick over. The color is beautiful and long lasting. (I normally use the lipprimer from NYX before applying.) But at the same time it’s perfect as a base color for the other two lipsticks. The cost for this lippencil is €18,60.

The lipstick in color Corrupt is also a lovely, yet more vibrant, pink shade. The consistency is a bit try, a little bit too try for my personal taste, but once onto the lips it doens’t feel dry at all, and that’s the most important. It can easily be used by itself without a lippencil under since it gives the lips a strong color. The lipstick is long lasting, and it takes a couple of hours before you need to apply it again. The cost for this lipstick is €22,90.

The Vanitas Matte Lipstick in color Wanton feels a bit more luxury, from the packaging to the product itself. I adore this shade. It’s wearable and perfect for an everyday use. I normally wear this one with the lip colouring pencil Media underneath, but it looks great also by itself. Also here the consistency is a bit try while applying but on the lips that’s not the feeling so overall I really like this lipstick. It has often a fixed place in my makeup bag in my purse since I got it. The color lasts for hours. This one costs €26,20.

YVES SAINT LAURENT
Blush Volupté Passionnee nr 6

Last year while working in different makeup stores I worked specifically for YSL and many times while doing makeup on clients I used these blushes. This shade that I’ve bought is my personal favorite shade. It’s a medium, warm-toned pink with a golden shimmer in it with a soft, frosted finish. The consistency of the powder is very silky and very easy to apply. Even thought this shade has a soft shimmer to it it doesn’t leave the skin too luminous, instead it gives the cheeks a healthy and beautiful color. The duration of this blush is very high, of course it depends a bit on the skintype you’ve, but personally it lasts from six to eight hours. It also has a pleasant fragrance. If you have tried their gloss volupté you’ll find that the fragrance is almost identical. At Sephora this blush costs €46,90.

STILA
Stay Alla Day Precision Glide Brow Pencil Blonde

I ordered this browpencil out of curiosity. I hadn’t read any reviews or checked out any other information than what the product description said before buying it. Since I love every Stila product I’ve I wanted to give this one a try. The packaging is beautiful, very similar to other makeup brand’s eyebrow pencils except the gold and blue colors which give the pencil a more elegant look.
But now to the product itself. I bought the color blonde for me even thought other brands blonde colors sometimes can be a bit too light for me. So I knew it could be risky, and unfortunately that’s also the case here.
Even thought it’s not completely the perfect shade for me I use it a lot, but only in the beginning of my eyebrows. After I always finish with Anastasia Berverly Hills Brow Wiz in the shade Taupe (which is my perfect eyebrow color). I’ve been using this technique for a long time, to start a bit lighter in the beginning of the eyebrows and to finish one shade over from the middle to the end of the eyebrow. In this way I find, at least for me, that the eyebrow looks less heavy and a bit more natural. The final result with this specific blonde color is great. The consisteny is a bit hard which makes the application a bit tricky, I would have prefered just a tiny bit softer. The duration on the other hand is great, it lasts all day without problem. The cost for this browpencil is €18.

Last but not least I ordered myself a backup of gorgeous eyelashes from False Eyelashes. I’m already a big fan of many of these lashes but two of them are new to me so I really look forward using them in some of my makeup looks  ❤
