INGLOT AMC – Eyeliner Gel

Sorry about being away for so long. Unfortunately I haven’t had any time at all to dedicate to the blog lately. It’s been and is still a frenetic time and mentally I’ve been elsewhere. But I’ve got a few new looks coming up and I still get that positive vibe when creating them so I’ll definately continue blogging and hopefully more soon.
Me and my family came back to Italy a few weeks ago from Sweden and now the kids are back in school so more or less everything is back on track again.

Today I wanted to talk about these eyeliner gels from Inglot. They’re really everything! I bought them in the Inglot store in the Mall of Scandinavia in Stockholm about a month ago. Inglot has got so many nice products but I didn’t buy anything else.
Lately I’ve been using the AMC eyeliner gel nr 74 which is a beautiful purple color and I really love it. The best thing about it, which is actually hard to find in a gel eyeliners, is that it’s completely waterproof! It doesn’t smudge nor fade away during the day, which a few ”higher” brands gel eyeliners can tend to do. I’ve spend double money on ”waterproof” gel eyeliners from other brands and after a few hours I find them in the crease and all smudged out, and that’s not ok(!).

The creamy and delicate formula of this eyeliner gel dries in 60 seconds into a waterproof, smudge proof, and crease proof finish. I can really recommend it. The cost for it is about €15, I paid 140 swedish crowns which is overall the same.

I haven’t opened the black, nr 77, yet so I didn’t swatch them but I’ve got a look for you here under where I used the nr 74 so you can see how gorgeous the purple color is.

Here’s one look that I created using Inglot’s AMC Eyeliner gel 74.

Kiss My Eyes

Me and my family just came back from a week in Stockholm. It’s been really nice and Stockholm is as always such a beautiful city with so many things to do. We’ve really been enjoying this week together. We didn’t do much shopping but one day we visitied The Mall of Scandinavia and there I bought myself two gorgeous gel eyeliners from Inglot. I’ve been wanting to try them out for over a year now and finally I got two of them. I will make a post about them further on.

The look I show you today is purple with blendings in orange and yellow. I love this combination of colors. To it I matched with a pink lipstick. I think it’s a fun look you can use for a special occasion or a party.

I hope all of you’re great and I’ll try to update the blog soon again.❤

Winner of Kryolan’s limited edition Shades 5 Colors ”200K” give away

Last week I got a private message from Kryolan on Instagram telling me I was one of the lucky winners of their give away. They organized this give away to celebrate they had reached 200K followers on Instagram. To participate you simply had to comment on their post and tell them which type of Kryolan Instagram posts you enjoy reading the most. I did and to my surprise I won. I was really thrilled about it beacuse I normally never win anything. I love matte eyeshadows and these colorful matte eyeshadows from Kryolan are the best! The quality is on top and they’re absolutely gorgeous!

I swatched the eyeshadows and took a quick photo on the makeup I did today using them. They’re so easy to apply and blend with and I’m really happy to own this palette!

Violet Voss Holy Grail Eyeshadow Palette

Two weeks ago I was glad to find this palette from Violet Voss on Beautybay. I was lucky enough to find it exactly the same day when they got it back in stock, beacuse just after a few hours all of them where gone. Wow…we makeup addicts…🙂
I was really excited to have found it and that it finally was on its way home to me. I’ve been seeing this palette on social medias for a long time and I always been curious about the shades that to me look amazing.

So when I finally got it I wanted to try it out immediately. I took a few pictures of it and swatched it. First impression was that the eyeshadows looked great. Second impression the bad smell…they smelled a bit”cheap”. Don’t get me wrong, this palette just cost €38,20 and that makes every eyeshadow €1,91 which is super cheap. Nothing wrong with cheap eyeshadows but I know for certain when a smell is ”good” or ”bad”. This eyeshadow palette is made in P.R.C. so I just hope they are made in a ”good” way. What I can think of is that if you have sensitive eyes and skin you should probably be careful using this product. I haven’t had any kind of irritation or problem but on the palette they have written clearly as a caution and warning that if signs of irritation or rash appear you should discontinue the use of it. Anyways, the bad smell isn’t longer that strong after that I’ve been using it for a week, so fortunately that doesn’t bother me any longer.
The third impression that I liked a lot is that it’s very neat, doesn’t take much space at all, is really leightweighted and has a good mirror, so it makes it easy to bring with you anywhere.

Now to the eyeshadows. The shades are really beautiful, they are highly pigmented and most important they blend really well and the application is very easy without fall out. With a good eyeprimer they last all day long and I’m very pleased with how the eyeshadows turn out to look around the eye. The list of eye makeups you can do with this palette is almost infinite. The swatches I made for you is on bare shin without primer underneath.
I haven’t got the time yet to take pictures of the makeup looks I’ve done using this palette but I promise I’ll post new looks using this palette as soon as I can.

I would recommend this palette to the persons that haven’t got too sensible eyes and skin, and doesn’t suffer from various types of skin allergies. I suggest always to check the origin of the eyeshadows and where they are made before you order, if you have any of these problems. Because even if it’s a cheap palette it’s better to save these 38 euros for something more appropriate for your eyes and skin.

Bubble Gum

I made this look just a couple of days ago and it was a look I didn’t mean to pubblish, but then halfway through the makeup I changed my mind and just felt the need to take a few pictures of it. That’s also why it didn’t exactly turn out the way I had in mind. The only thing I knew for sure was that I wanted to use one of my mother’s necklaces that looks like many colorful bubble gums put together and therefor I went with a pink lipcolor to match it a bit. Over all I think the lipstick goes ok with this look but for a more classic look I would have chosen a red or an orange shade or why not a nude lipcolor for a classic everyday look. I need to use this necklace again but maybe try a completely colorful makeup. The necklace feels so 80s and I hope I’ll have the time to come up with a fun look using it.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend! Me and my family are going up to Stockholm over the weekend. My youngest cousin is going to get married and I’ll do her wedding makeup!❤ So I’m really looking forward to that.

Summer Breeze

This is a look I created inspired by a warm yet breezy summer day. I used very soft shimmery colors mixed with a few matte ones just to get a nice soft blending. I added a pair of blue false eyelashes to finish the look and even though you can go strong on the lipcolor here I prefered a soft glossy shade just to enhance the eyes even more. Probably for a night out I would choose a more intense lipcolor, quite likely in a pink shade.
I used Urban Decay’s Gwen Stefani eyeshadow palette to create the eye makeup.

I hope that you all are having a nice Friday and that you’ll have a wonderful weekend!❤

Make Up Store’s Microhadows

The first week here in Sweden I went to Make Up Store in the centre of Linköping city to check out all their new products and to purchase a few eyeshadows. I had read on their Facebook page a few weeks ago that they have an offer going on until the end of July on their Microeyeshadows. They are discounted and if you buy four of them they give you the empty eyeshadow palette for free. Since I’m not a big fan of having to many single eyeshadows around I loved the idea of getting the palette to put them all in the same place.

Make Up Store started to renew their product design last year and now all their products got this new design. I’ve used their foundation, powder, eyeshadows, cake eyeliners and lipsticks since a couple of years and always been happy with their products. Since I can’t find their products in Italy (except a few things online) I was finally able to enter their store. It’s also always a nice feeling to be able to try and feel the products before buying them.
I really like their new squared design for the eyeshadows, and also other products. Before their product design was round which isn’t bad either. What’s new more now is that they also got this special pattern that will make them stand out a bit more. The quality was great even before and is obviously also now. The eyeshadows are very big,
4 grams/0,14oz per single eyeshadow and are made in Italy.

I chose three matte shades:
Vanilla – a whitebeige shade. A perfect base, also highlighting, shade. Use it all over the lid or just underneath along the eyebrows.
Enigma – a soft orange shade. A wonderful matte orange color that is perfect to use as a transition color or to blend out darker eyeshadows with. Another tip is to use it also as a blush once in a while.
Fashion – a brown shade. This matte brown is great to use for a brown smokey eye, and of course to create intensity to the outer corner and in the crease with.
And one shimmery shade:
Bronze – a bronze golden shade. Perfect to use on the eyelid for a nice shimmery touch and also very nice to use along the lower lashline.

The consistency of all of them are really silky soft, they’re highly pigmented and long lasting. They’re also enriched with vitamin E and the application is very smooth and you easily get an even result.
Even though I’ve got lots of brown eyeshadows the texture of the one I got here is amazing, so smooth and almost creamy. I couldn’t resist it.
(Unfortunately when I tried to get it out from the packaging it flew down on the floor and the corner of the shadow broke. I was really disappointed but it was completely my fault.)

Here under you get a closeup on the eyeshadows and I’ve also swatched them. I hope to be able to show you a look soon using them.

Take care and I hope you’re having an amzing week!❤

Modern Renaissance Makeup Look

I’ve been really busy and stressed lately, so finally being able to sit down here with the blog showing you a new look feels very good! Makes me clear my mind at least for a little while.
I made this look a few weeks ago but haven’t been able to organize all the photos until now. The new header for the blog is actually done using this makeup.

It’s now a couple of weeks that I’ve been using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance eyeshadow palette. I can definately say that it has become one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes. I love all the shades and it’s easy to create both simple everyday makeup looks and more dramatic intense makeup looks using it. Perfect to bring with you in vacation.

Right now I’m in Sweden and as usual I brought too much makeup with me. (It’s so hard to choose that I always end up bringing more than I need to) When we go for just a week it’s different, then I try to bring just the necessary but when we’ll stay for a longer period like now, I always have a hard time to think rationally. If I don’t bring most of my favorites with me I always think I’m going to miss them so they normally get a place in the bag.
Mostly, these first days, I’ve actually been using the Modern Renaissance palette even though to be completely honest, it’s not that I’m doing much makeup in this period so right now I really wonder what I’ll do with all the makeup I brought with me… I hope my motivation comes back soon!

I hope you guys are doing great! I want to wish you all a fantastic summer whether you’re working or are in vacation!

Favorite Foundation, Great Face Primer and New In Products

I’ve been using this foundation for about 6 months now. I’ve waited almost too long before doing this review but in one way it has been helpful. In this way I’ve really had the chance to try it in different seasons and also comparing it to other foundations.
It was during a course at L’Orèal my eyes opened up for this special foundation and since I tried it on I can’t find many other that can be compared with Yves Saint Laurent’s Fusion Ink Foundation.

This foundation is really soft, silky, and lightweight. The formula is very fluid, which I really like, so it’s extra important to shake it well before every use, that’s of course important with all liquid foundations. The Fusion Ink Foundation has a particular applicator. The so called face-zoning applicator allows you to apply the foundation directly onto the face. You don’t need much product at all to get a full coverage and it sets within a few seconds. Once on the skin it transform itself and gets very soft and silky and the finish is soft-matte. The skin looks healthy and it covers great and most important you don’t feel this foundation once its on since it’s so lightweight. You can also build it up if needed but I find one application, at least for me, enough.
The information I write now you find online but it also comes with the foundation:
”The special sweat and sebum-controlling agents allow for 24-hour of coverage—even through humidity or heat, and its sensorial and volatile dry oil complex allows it to set in seconds. Formulated with pure-micro-coated pigments, it delivers lasting, radiant color.”

When you try it, also on the hand, you can fell that it almost transforms itself into a smooth silky lightweight powder. It may sound strange but it doens’t look powdery at all.
I normally apply it with Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge or with Sigma’s 3DHD Kabuki brush, also a fluffier brush works excellent.
It has SPF18 and is availible in 21 different shades.

I have combination/oily skin, so when I buy foundations for me the most important thing is that it’s suitable for comb/oily skin, the finish is ”healthy” matte and the formula is long-lasting. I also love the Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Foundation, and Lancôme’s Teint Idole Ultra 24h. These are the once that I use most of for the moment but the absolute favorite is Yves Saint Laurent’s Fusion Ink Foundation. Negative about it, the price and that the bottle just comes with 25 ml of product! But I bought mine with 20% of discount at Sephora so it wasn’t too bad!🙂

I also wanted to say that I’ve used it both in the Swedish winter climate and in the hot humid Italian summer weather and it works great it both. In the dry winter weather it doens’t dry out the skin, it keeps it hydrated while in the humid hot summer weather it helps the skin to not get to shiny and is very long-lasting.

BENEFIT COSMETICS – The POREfessional Matte Rescue

I bought this primer from Benefit just when it came out a couple of moths ago. I came over it by coincidence and tried it and just felt that I needed to give it a chance. Face primers are so important for me. Also here I prefer buying the once that are mattifying. At Sephora it costs €30,50 and you get 50ml. I was lucky to get 20% off also here.

What I like about this primer is that it’s really lightweight. It’s a water-based gel that should help the skin to absorb excess surface oil during the day. For me it works very fine, specially now in the summer, when you need the foundation to stay in place. The skin feels really fresh once applied and it also helps a bit to minimize the appearance of pores, not exceptionally, but still good. I’m not a big fan of the primers that covers the pores too much since they normally are silicon based. But for people with more sensitive skin that’s probably better. When I use this primer I’ve notice that it takes a bit longer before I need to retouch the makeup.

Another face primer that I love is Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer, Mattifying Primer for Oily Skin. It costs a bit more and you only get 30ml, but on the other hand I find that it’s probably one of the best ones on the market, and since you use such small quantities it lasts for a long time.

The 9th of June was my birthday. I just stopped counting the years, but I always appreciate celebrating! From Sephora this year I got this double sided blush. I must say that I’ve been using it every day since I got it, mostly the orange shade, but I also use the pink one. Both shades give a beautiful soft finish great for the summer season. Can never get too many blushes.😉

MARC JAKOBS – Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara

I got this sample of Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume mascara with the purchase I did at Sephora. I tried it the day after and I can’t say that it’s one of my favorite mascaras. I mean it’s a great mascara and everything but personally I don’t like when the applicator is too big. With that said you probably understand that I’m more into lengthening mascaras that normally got a more subtle applicator. I find that many of the applicators that come with volume mascaras can be a bit more clumpsy.
The information about this applicator says that it’s made to place the most volume to the ”hard-to-reach” center lash line, and to define tip styles lashes for major drama. Unfortunatley that doesn’t work for me.
It’s very black which is nice and the formula should be smudgeproof. I write should because after half day I found small pieces of mascara right under my eyebrows.
The cost of it is around €27,50.

My favorite mascara that I always come back to is from Eyeko; The Skinny Brush Mascara (Long & Tall). On the pictures here under you can see the difference between Eyeko’s Skinny Brush Mascara and Marc Jacob’s Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara. Today I tried using them together and for an extra effect that works absolutely fine!

New In from Beautybay

About a week ago I order some new products from Beautybay that just arrived the other day! Since then I’ve been having lots of fun!

It’s been some time that I haven’t felt the ”need” of a new eyeshadow palette but when I saw this new palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills I kind of fell in love immediately! The colors of the eyeshadows are just amazing and you can create so many beautiful looks with them. The palette comes with 14 eyeshadows which is great! What I love about it is that it has more matte shades than shimmery, so for me this was a must have palette! More exactly it has 11 matte shades and 3 with a more metallic finish. They are all highly pigmented and very easy to blend and work with. I have already tried them three days in a row so I can absolutely confirm on that. They also last all day without problem, of course using an eye primer under. Inside the palette you also get a dual-ended brush for application which actually isn’t bad at all.

Here are the names of the eyeshadows and their finish. (Information I took from ABH website.)

Tempera – Velvety beige with an ultra-matte finish
Golden Ochre – Earthy yellow with an ultra-matte finish
Vermeer – Iridescent shell with a metallic finish
Buon Fresco – Antique lavender with an ultra-matte finish
Antique Bronze – Metallic sable with a satin finish
Love Letter– Raspberry with an ultra-matte finish
Cyprus Umber– Dark coffee with an ultra-matte finish
Realgar– Brick with an ultra-matte finish
Warm Taupe– Earthy gray with an ultra-matte finish
Venetian Red– Crimson with an ultra-matte finish
Red Ochre– Sienna with an ultra-matte finish
Primavera– shimmery gold dust with a metallic finish
Burnt Orange– deep orange with an ultra-matte finish
Raw Sienna– neutral amber with an ultra-matte finish

My favorite shades for the moment are Realgar, Love Letter and Primavera. I’ve swatched them for you to be able to get a closer look at them.

Since I accidently dropped my ABH Tweezers a while back I needed a new one as back up. Unfortunately I dropped it on a stone floor so the tip of it got a bit destroyed. (Somehow I managed to fix it decently to be able to continue using it.)
These tweezers are really fantastic and removes hair without any kind of problem. They’re made of stainless steel and should be produced here in Italy. It has a custom-slanted top and calibrated tension. If you take really good care of them (not dropping them on floors) they will last forever and also remember to put on the protective cap that comes with it to preserve the tension when you don’t use it.

This wasn’t actually anything I was looking for but when I came across this limited addition that also was on a small sale I couldn’t resist. The color I chose is called Amalfi and is an intense coral pink color, really lovely! I would love to have all shades of this collection but it’s not in my budget for the moment. So I’m more than happy with this one! As mentioned it’s a limited addition made for the spring summer 2016.
So to the more technical part of the product. When I first opened it I immediatly got to think of NYX soft matte lipcream. If you’ve tried them you probably know and have felt that they have this really sweet flavour which this liquid lipstick from Stila also got. The applicator is fantastic and makes the application really easy. The color is super covering and once it’s on the lip it’ll dry quite fast. When I read about it it said like this: ”shine as a gloss but the staying power and colour intensity of a lipstick”. Regarding the shine I can’t agree because it gets absolutely matte, at least on my lips. But I love it, I don’t understand how they can describe it in that way though. What’s really great about it is that it lasts for a really long time! You can eat, drink and kiss without being afraid of loosing color. It’s really transfer proof and can stay up to 6 hours.
In this liquid lipstick they have put Vitamin E and Avocado Oil to protect and moisturize the lips. My personal opinion about this listick is that it’s really great! The color is electric, for a night out it’s perfect and it lasts! The only thing is that after a while I feel the lips a bit dry, so if you have really dry lips I wouldn’t suggest this product. What I do after a few hours, if I feel the lips too dry, is that I add a little bit of a lip balm over it. Even in this way the color will continue to last but in a more comfortable way.

This bent eyeliner brush from Makeup Geek is so great! I love the thin tip it has beacuse it makes it so easy to apply the eyeliner. I normally use it with gel eyeliners but you can use it with any formula. It can both apply and blend so whatever is your favorite eyeliner this brush will make an excellent job. What’s also very good is the cost, I just paid €8,10 for it. It’s also very easy to clean and the hair bristles doesn’t spread apart. I can really recommend this brush!
